Well done to the teams from Presentation Secondary who recently travelled to Thurles to take part in the East Munster School Cross-Country competition for the first time in a number of years! Students from 1st, 2nd and 4th year took to the line in Thurles to compete in the cross-country races. First year students Nicole McCarthy, Leah Holohan, Ellie Moore, Darcy Falconer, Nessa McGrath and Mary-Jane McGuire took part in the minor girls’ race (1500m). Second year students Jana Moull, Mhairi O’ Reagan, Sadie Carton, Erica Moran, and Lucy A,Power took part in the junior girls' race, entailing a 2k run around the course. Fourth year students Celina Kehinde, Kira Murphy and Tamara Keidia took part in the Intermediate Girls' 3km race. This was the girls’ first time running cross country, in a very high standard race. Everyone had an enjoyable day out and they are all eager to go again next year with more experience and the same enthusiasm and drive they all had. Well done girls! The athletics team are now busy training for the upcoming schools Track and Field competitions, under the watchful eyes of coaches Ms. Dermody and Ms. Tebay.
